  • Emma Beharry

    CO-PRESIDENT

    Emma is a co-president of SAIA and a junior studying computer science with a concentration in AI. She is has worked on AI safety and governance research, and is passionate about about developing ethical and aligned computer systems. Her hobbies include nature photography, paddle-boarding, and listening to music.

  • Andrew Zeng

    CO-PRESIDENT

    Andrew is a co-president of SAIA and rising junior at Stanford. He is currently doing AI policy research with a focus on international coordination and governing high-risk AI systems. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, freewriting, watching old films, and biking across campus.

  • Sabina Nong

    EXECUTIVE LEADER

    Sabina is a M.A candidate of International Policy student at Stanford University, concentrating on technology policies and cybersecurity. She is the founding director of AI Policy Case Competition and the policy executive lead for SAIA. She has researched on topics related to comparative AI regulatory regimes across EU, the U.S., and China, and governance approaches towards open-source foundational models.

  • Patrick Ye

    EXECUTIVE LEADER

    Patrick is a CS major at Stanford affiliated to Stanford AI Lab, with research focus on Cognitive AI and ML Theory. He has been SAIA’s leadership organizer since freshman year, and has founded SAIA’s human-centered program the Humanities in AI Alignment.

  • Katherine

    EXECUTIVE LEADER

    Katherine is a rising coterm in computer science and completed her B.S. in mathematics. She’s interested in research related to cooperative behavior among multiple agents.

  • Ella Pfeffer

    PROJECT LEADER

    Ella María is a Project Lead at SAIA and a sophomore double majoring in Symbolic Systems and Economics. She is interested in the intersection between ethics, AI, and finance. She grew up between London, England and José Ignacio, Uruguay. In her free time, she loves to read philosophy and people watch at cafés.

  • Angela Nguyen

    PROJECT LEADER

    Angela is the project lead of 'Aligning AI Through Ethics & Equity (A2E2)' studying computer science with a focus on ethics in technology. She has interests and experience in educational equity, policy advocacy, and game development. In her free time, you can find her 3D modeling or working out.

  • Tasha Kim

    PROJECT LEADER

    Tasha is a fellow at Stanford Institute for Human-Centered AI (HAI), and M.S. student at Institute for Computational and Mathematical Engineering (ICME). Her research concerns cognitive and embodied intelligence, and she is invested in topics within theoretical AI alignment and human-AI cooperation.   • Lora Xie

    PROJECT LEADER

    Lora is a junior studying math and CS. She is interested in understanding AI models (both in the behavioral psychology way and the cognitive science way), evaluating them for catastrophically risky capabilities and tendencies, and messy, inelegant approaches to AI safety. She would love to be alive and happy under AGI.

  • Tzu Kit Chan

    SENIOR AFFILIATE ADVISOR

    Tzu is a SAIA affiliate, and when he sees something that needs to be done he makes it happen. He's doing operations for ML Alignment & Theory Scholars (MATS) Program this summer. Previously, he was an Operations Specialist for Atlas Fellowship, a prestigious program with less than a 1% acceptance rate that develops the epistemics of talented high schoolers. Tzu represented Malaysia in the International Philosophy Olympiad and subsequently founded a non-profit to promote critical thinking via philosophy.   • John Teichman

    SENIOR AFFILIATE ADVISOR

    John is a technology veteran with years of experience at Microsoft and Intel. Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to drive and participate in many exciting and cutting edge technology programs (most recently at MSFT with HoloLens and Copilot). He is excited to work with Stanford AI Alignment because he believes AI alignment is critical to our future.

  • Gabriel Mukobi

    Gabe is the founder and former president of SAIA. He graduated with an M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford and is now completing his PhD at Berkeley.
